Illinois Creative Experiences

Chicago's Most Hands-On Things to Do

If you are hunting for things to do in Illinois beyond the usual museums, Illinois Creative Experiences are a good place to start. Most classes are in Chicago, with more in Lombard. See more Illinois experience gifts or the whole range of creative experience gifts.

Art classes in Illinois cover a lot of ground: BYOB spray paint n sip, spin art with balloon popping, glow in the dark immersive art, fluid bear painting and classic paint and sip nights. A creative art room experience lets groups splatter and pour to their heart's content.

Pottery and Craft Workshops

Pottery classes in Illinois include beginner wheel throwing, mug and bowl hand building, a cat shaped vase class, pottery and painting combos and romantic date nights on the wheel. See Chicago pottery classes for the full list. In Lombard, natural soap, perfume and candle making workshops are a calmer choice, and Chicago adds tea blending, skincare and date night photography. New classes appear through the year, so check back often.

Easy to Give, Easy to Book

Send an instant e-voucher or a printed gift box, and the recipient picks a date. They make welcome Christmas gifts when winter keeps everyone indoors, and fun birthday gifts or anniversary dates.

Do I get to keep what I make?

Yes. Paintings, candles and perfumes go home on the day, while pottery is glazed and fired after class, which usually takes two to three weeks, and the studio lets you know when it is ready to collect.

Are classes held in winter?

Yes, every class is indoors, so Chicago's cold months are a busy time. Weekend slots fill first in December and January, so book early.
