The starting point is conveniently located at a local Kailua shop, where you can strap the kayak onto your car with provided roof pads—compatible with almost any vehicle. Whether it's your first time paddling or you're a seasoned kayaker, the East Oahu Kayak experience is a fantastic way to soak up the sun, enjoy stunning views, and maybe even spot some wildlife along Oahu's scenic Windward side. Any restrictions to participate?

  • Age: All age groups are welcome. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
  • Experience level: Suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced kayakers. Instruction provided for beginners.

Who can you accommodate for?

  • Children: Children can participate but must be supervised by adults. Safety gear for children is provided.
  • Individuals with disabilities: Please contact us in advance to discuss any specific needs or accommodations. The physical nature of kayaking may limit participation for some disabilities.
  • Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed on the kayak.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: 4 Hours
  • What’s included: Kayak rental, seat backs, paddles, life vests, kayak leash, snorkel gear, dry bag, and expert instruction on use. Roof pads and straps are also provided for easy transportation of equipment.
  • Who will be present: The staff will assist you at the storefront with equipment setup and provide a safety briefing and route recommendations; the kayaking journey is self-guided.
  • Photo/ video: You are encouraged to bring your own waterproof camera or phone to capture your experience.
  • Specific rules to follow: Follow all safety guidelines provided, respect the marine environment, pack out all trash, and use provided equipment properly.

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: The experience is dependent on weather; ideal conditions include calm seas and clear skies. Check weather forecasts ahead of your adventure.
  • Arrival: Please arrive at the location (134B Hamakua Dr., Kailua, HI) 30 minutes before your booked start time to allow for equipment fitting and briefing.
  • Parking: Available at the storefront. You will transport the kayak to the launch site using your vehicle.
  • What to wear: Swimsuit, reef-safe sunscreen, and water shoes. A rash guard is recommended for extra sun protection.
  • What to bring:
    • Essential: Water, snacks, sunglasses, and a hat for sun protection.
    • What’s allowed: Personal items that can fit in the provided dry bag.
    • What’s not allowed: Avoid bringing unnecessary valuables as you will be in a public space and on the water.

Anything else I should know before going on this experience?

  • Ensure you are comfortable with the basic operations of the kayak before setting out. Familiarize yourself with the local kayaking routes and adhere to designated areas for safety and to protect the environment. Remember, the reefs are delicate ecosystems; avoid touching or standing on coral to prevent damage.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 48 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 48 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
