This food tour starts at the Singing Fountain in Columbus Square Park and winds north through East Passyunk, taking in a stretch of cheesesteak shops before reaching a family-owned bakery for a Vietnamese bánh mì and a Mexican spot for tacos. From there, the walk continues into the Italian Market itself for more bites, including a stop at a 120-year-old Italian bakery known for its cannoli, before wrapping up with a glass of wine or a non-alcoholic drink at a neighborhood bottle shop.

Along the way, the guide shares stories gathered directly from the business owners and chefs, plus a broader look at the waves of immigration that shaped South Philly over the last two centuries. It is a walking lunch, with five generous portions of food and two beverages included.
