This full-day tour trades a typical dam tour for something a little more entertaining, pairing a walk across the top of Hoover Dam and a guided look inside its power plant with a professional comedian guide who blends humor into the history throughout the drive. How to prepare?

• Weather dependency: Rain or shine, the tour will run. The dam's interior stays cool year-round, while the bus is climate-controlled for the desert heat.
• Arrival: Hotel pickup happens in the early morning; guests are never more than a 5-minute walk from their pickup point.
