From December to April, humpback whales migrate from Alaska to Maui’s warm waters to give birth and nurture their calves. Aboard a spacious catamaran, enjoy close encounters with these majestic creatures as they breach, slap their tails, and play in the calm waters off Ka’anapali Beach. • Pets: No pets allowed, except service animals.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

• Duration: 2 hours.

• Who will be present: A knowledgeable captain and crew, including certified naturalists, lifeguards, and CPR-trained staff. The group size is limited to ensure a comfortable experience.
• Photo/ video: Guests are welcome to take their own photos to capture the experience.
• Specific rules to follow: Smoking is not allowed. Shoes will be collected before boarding the catamaran.

How to prepare?

• Weather dependency: The tour runs during the seasonal whale migration (December 15th to April 15th) and is subject to weather conditions.
• Arrival: Plan to arrive 30 minutes before departure. Check-in is at the Sea Maui kiosk located along the beachwalk at Whalers Village Shopping Center between Leilani’s Restaurant and Hula Grill.
• Parking: 4 hours of parking validation is available for Whalers Village. Bring the parking ticket to check-in.
• What to wear: Comfortable and waterproof clothing is recommended. Hats with chin straps, a light rain jacket, and shorts are ideal. Shoes should be easy to remove as the tour is barefoot.
• What to bring:
  • A valid ID for guests consuming alcohol.
  • Parking ticket for validation.
• What’s not allowed: No large bags, luggage, or outside food and drinks.

• The tour provides an up-close and personal encounter with humpback whales in the calm waters of Ka’anapali.
• The crew will provide a safety briefing before boarding, and questions about the whales are encouraged.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 24 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 24 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
