This boutique hotel occupies a beautifully restored 1876 Victorian manor, where every room tells a different story through its design. With only 16 uniquely furnished rooms and suites, each stay feels personal and thoughtful. Just steps from the iconic Cliff Walk and within walking distance of Newport’s beaches, shops, and restaurants, The Cliffside Inn makes a standout home base for exploring this classic New England destination.
Inside, you’ll find gas fireplaces, luxe amenities, and eclectic touches inspired by former resident and artist Beatrice Turner. Outside, elegant porches, coastal gardens, and ocean views invite slow mornings and scenic evenings. Any restrictions to participate?

  • Age: Must be 21 years old or older to check in to hotel.
    Who can you accommodate for?
  • Pets: This hotel has three dog-friendly Suites with private exterior entrances—the Cliff, Hydrangea, and Atlantic Suites. Please be sure to note this when making your reservation if you will be accompanied by your canine friend (who must weigh 30 lbs. and under). For your pet's comfort we will happily provide a dog bed, bowl and a welcome toy! We charge a pet fee of $50 per pet, per day.
  • Please be aware that pets must never be left in a guest room alone, and are permitted only on our porches and the exterior common areas of our hotel, and only while on leash. While we love our pets, not all of our guests feel the same way. For this reason, pets are never permitted in interior public spaces.
  • As a condition of reserving a room at this hotel, you agree to pay a $250.00 fee per night if any pets are found in rooms not designated as pet friendly, or if your pet causes stains or damage to a pet friendly guest room.

  • Please note that flights and travel arrangements are not included.
  • Check in/ check out: Check-in is between 4:00 and 8:00 pm. Check-out time is 11:00 am.
  • Early and late check-ins can usually be accommodated with advanced notice. If you expect to arrive before or after check-in hours, please notify us as soon as possible.
  • Anything else to know?
  • Two-night reservations are required on most weekends and during busy season (with a three-night minimum required for major holiday weekends and various other dates). This may cause the availability calendar to show “No Availability.” During the week (Sunday through Thursday nights), some rooms may not be available for a one-night stay.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 15 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds or reschedulings are allowed once the experience is booked.
