Deep inside the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern, a 45-minute Sound Healing Meditation turns a decommissioned 1926 drinking water reservoir into a space of resonance and restoration. Offered in collaboration with UNIONisCREATION, the session uses singing bowls, wind chimes, and a gong alongside guided awareness to help participants reconnect body and mind, all inside an 87,500-square-foot chamber known for its natural 17-second echo.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own cushion or mat, and reservations are required, with about 30 minutes recommended for parking and check-in. Children under 9 are not permitted, and the Cistern is a dim, windowless space that may be challenging for some.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

• Duration: 45 minutes.
• What's included: A guided sound healing meditation session with singing bowls, wind chimes, and a gong, led in collaboration with UNIONisCREATION.
• Who will be present: A meditation guide will lead the session, along with other guests attending the same session.
• Photo/video: Photography is allowed, but tripods or stands are not permitted.
• Specific rules to follow: No eating, drinking, or gum-chewing, no smoking, no running or excessive noise, and all bags must be secured. Guests must follow all posted Cistern rules and staff instructions.

How to prepare?

• Weather dependency: This is an indoor experience.
• Arrival: Plan to arrive about 30 minutes early for parking and check-in.
• Parking: Limited free parking is available at The Water Works lot (105-B Sabine Street) and along Sabine Street. Additional parking is available at City of Houston Lot H and along Allen Parkway.
• What to bring: A personal cushion or mat is recommended.

Anything else I should know before going on this experience?

• The Cistern is a dim space with no windows; guests experiencing difficulties should proceed to the nearest exit.

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 14 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.
