Uncover the haunted side of downtown Tampa on this 90-minute Ghost and History Tour that blends eerie storytelling with hands-on paranormal investigation. Led by guide Paige Horton—a criminology student at the famously haunted University of Tampa—this experience brings a unique edge to the city’s dark past. Stops include some of Tampa’s most iconic and unsettling landmarks such as the Tampa Bay Hotel, the historic Tampa Theatre, and Oaklawn Cemetery, each carrying chilling stories of restless spirits and tragic history.
This isn’t just a history walk—it’s an interactive investigation. Guests use real ghost-hunting tools like EMF meters, spirit boxes, and dowsing rods to search for activity along the route. Paige also offers Tarot card readings, adding another layer of insight that often ties eerily into the night’s encounters.

  • Physical limitations: Not wheelchair accessible due to stairs; must be able to walk just over one mile at a relaxed pace.

  • Individuals with disabilities: Tour is not wheelchair accessible. Service animals are always allowed.
  • Languages: Tour is conducted in English.
  • Pets: Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome.
    What to expect on the day of the experience?
  • Duration: 90 minutes.
  • What’s included:
  • Guided walking tour through haunted downtown Tampa.
  • Haunted history, legends, and true crime stories.
  • Hands-on use of ghost-hunting equipment such as EMF meters, spirit boxes, and dowsing rods.
  • Guidance on detecting paranormal activity.
  • Optional Tarot card readings from the guide.
  • Who will be present: Guided by Paranormal Guide Paige Horton (criminology student at the haunted University of Tampa); up to 15 participants per group.
  • Spectators: Not allowed; everyone must have a ticket.
  • Photo/ video: Guests may take their own photos and videos. Silent Slayer Ghost Tours, LLC may also use photos, videos, and recordings on social media or in marketing materials.
  • Specific rules to follow: No alcohol or disruptive behavior. Tours are conducted outdoors and do not enter buildings.
    How to prepare?
  • Weather dependency: Rain or shine; this is an outdoor experience.
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. Meet at the fountain in front of Plant Hall at the University of Tampa. The tour departs promptly.
  • Parking: No parking is allowed on the University of Tampa campus. Guests must use nearby public parking.
  • What to wear: Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
  • What to bring:
  • Bottled water.
  • Camera or phone for photos.
  • Cash or card for gratuities (optional).
  • Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: Not provided during the tour.

  • Each tour is unique and based on real-time paranormal activity—no two nights are the same.
  • Tours are taken at your own risk. The provider is not responsible for injuries or lost items.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 15 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 48 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 48 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
