Texas Flying

Big Skies Over the Lone Star State

Texas has plenty of sky to go around, and this collection makes the most of it with flights from the Gulf Coast to Central Texas. It is a natural fit for anyone researching Texas helicopter rides, scenic plane tours or a first taste of flying, and you can browse the wider range of flying experiences to compare with other states. Each option is easy to book on a date that suits the recipient.

Helicopters, Planes and a Turn at the Controls

Over Galveston, helicopter tours sweep along the beaches and around the island, with sunset routes that turn the Gulf gold. Around Austin, small plane tours take in the Capitol, Lake Travis, Canyon Lake and the rolling Hill Country, and several include the option to fly part of the route yourself, a fun discovery flight in Texas for budding pilots. Prefer to stay on the ground and still feel weightless? Indoor skydiving tunnels in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston give you the rush of freefall without the jump. If you love the coast, our Houston helicopter tours are worth a look as well. New flights and routes join the lineup through the year, so there is usually something new to try.

Gifts That Lift Off

A helicopter ride at sunset makes a romantic anniversary gift, and a plane tour slips nicely under the tree as one of our Christmas gifts. Birthdays are covered too. Send an instant e-voucher, or choose a printed gift box for a more traditional reveal.

Do I need any experience to take the controls?

No experience is needed. On flights with the option to fly, a licensed pilot stays beside you the whole time and only hands over once you are comfortable.

When is the best time to fly in Texas?

Spring and fall offer the most comfortable temperatures and clear skies, while summer sunset flights are a lovely way to avoid the midday heat.
