Any restrictions to participate?

  • Age: 14+
  • Health limitations: Guests who are pregnant should consult a healthcare provider first and let Desert Paddleboards know in advance so accommodations can be made.
  • Physical limitations: The experience is gentle and accessible for most people, with the water supporting joints and muscles. Basic swimming ability is recommended but not required, and life vests are available upon request. Notify Desert Paddleboards in advance of any physical limitations, recent surgeries, or health concerns.
  • Experience level: No experience with meditation or yoga is necessary.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: 1 hour, with the guided sound bath portion lasting about 45 to 60 minutes.
  • What's included: Floating mat, blanket, lavender eye mask, live Native American flute performance, live sound bath, and guided breathwork and meditation. Paddleboards, life vests (if desired), and all sound healing instruments are provided.
  • Who will be present: A flutist and sound bath practitioner lead the session, alongside other guests.
  • Photo/video: Phones and cameras are asked to stay off the paddleboard during the session to preserve the atmosphere and prevent water damage, though group photos are often taken before or after and shared on social media.

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: This is an outdoor evening experience. Rain or shine, it will run unless unsafe conditions like lightning, high winds, or extreme heat arise, in which case guests are notified at least an hour ahead and offered a rain check or refund.
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the session to check in and get settled.
  • What to wear: A swimsuit is optional; quick-drying athletic or yoga wear works well too. Bring a cover-up, plus a light layer or towel for warmth since this is an evening session.
  • What to bring:
    • A towel and water bottle
    • A small dry bag for valuables; leave jewelry and electronics at home or in the car

Anything else I should know before going on this experience?

  • Eating a light meal 1 to 2 hours before the session is recommended rather than arriving too full or too hungry.
  • Since this is an evening session in the Arizona heat, arrive hydrated. Floating on the water tends to feel more comfortable than being on land, and guests can cool off in the water or take a break if needed — just let the instructor know.
