The Golden Gate Bridge Crab and Cook Experience in San Francisco, California, is a hands-on, four-hour adventure that combines crabbing with coastal cooking. Set along the scenic Fort Point waterfront, the day begins with a guided lesson on how to catch live Rock Crab straight from the Bay using provided gear. Once the catch is in, it’s time to gather and cook a classic San Francisco cioppino—an Italian-American seafood stew packed with fresh shellfish, rich tomato broth, and plenty of local flavor.
Designed for small groups and ages 10 and up, this experience offers a relaxed but engaging way to learn a traditional West Coast skill and enjoy a delicious, fully catered meal. It’s part fishing class, part cooking session, and all about soaking in the Bay’s atmosphere while connecting with one of San Francisco’s most iconic food traditions.

Height: Participants should be at least 4.5 feet tall to see over the pier and manage their line
Physical limitations: Must be able to stand for 3–4 hours and carry up to 25 lbs with both hands comfortably

Individuals with disabilities: The location is partially wheelchair accessible; service animals are allowed

Spectators: No spectators are allowed; all attendees must have a reservation
Photo/video: Guests may take their own photos

Weather dependency: Rain or shine, the experience will be running
Arrival: Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early
Parking: Paid parking is available onsite

Outside fishing gear or food is not allowed
Restrooms/lockers/changing rooms: Restrooms available nearby; no changing rooms or lockers provided

Dungeness crab cannot be legally caught during the class, but at least one legally sourced Dungeness crab will typically be provided
Lost snares will incur a $20 replacement fee

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 15 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 72 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 72 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
