Tavern style pizza is a Chicago classic, known for its cracker thin crust cut into squares, and this class brings the technique to life from scratch. Participants work through every step of the process, from mixing and rolling the dough to preparing the sauce, all in a small group setting led by Baker Bettie.

The class has a relaxed, social feel, and guests of legal drinking age are welcome to bring their own beer or wine to enjoy while they cook. It is a fun way to pick up a new skill in the kitchen and walk away with a genuine taste of Chicago.

Any restrictions to participate?

• Age: Must be at least 18 years old to participate. Guests 21 and older may bring their own beer or wine to enjoy during class.
• Experience level: All levels are welcome, no prior baking experience is needed.

Who can you accommodate for?

• Children: This is not an experience for children.
• Dietary restrictions: This class includes wheat and dairy, and the kitchen regularly uses most major allergens. Guests with dietary concerns are encouraged to reach out in advance.
• Pets: This is not an experience for pets.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

• Duration: 2.5 hours
• What's included: Hands-on instruction preparing a tavern style pizza from scratch, including the sauce.
• Who will be present: Baker Bettie or another instructor will lead a small class of fellow participants.

• Weather dependency: This is an indoor experience and will run rain or shine.
• Parking: Metered street parking is available nearby, and a parking garage is located close by as well.
• What to bring: Beer or wine to enjoy during class, for guests 21 and older (BYOB)

• This class takes place in a retro diner themed kitchen space in the River North neighborhood, a short walk from public transit.

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 14 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 48 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 48 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
