Any restrictions to participate?

Age: 3+
Height: Must be at least 40” tall. Participants more than 6’4” tall may be uncomfortable sitting in the jeep.
Weight: Must be at least 40 pounds. Participants more than 250 pounds may be uncomfortable sitting in the jeep.
Health limitations: Not for pregnant women in their third trimester.
Physical limitations: Guests with neck, back, or serious injuries are advised to consult with their doctor.

Who can you accommodate for?

Children: Children must be at least 3 years old and at least 40 pounds OR 40” tall. Children under the age of 8 or 4’9″ tall must ride in a booster seat (supplied by the parent and secured by a 2-point seat belt in the back of the Jeep). All participants under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Individuals with disabilities: This experience is not wheelchair accessible.
Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

Duration: 3 hours
What’s included:
- Naturalist guided tour in a classic open-air Jeep Scrambler (CJ-8) with removable canvas shade top
- Guided nature walk or easy hike – geared to the abilities of the guests in the jeep
- Metate Ranch land and road use fees
- Bottled water and granola snacks
Who will be present: You will have a guide with you at all times as well as up to 7 total participants.
Spectators: No spectators are allowed, everyone must have a reservation.

How to prepare?

Weather dependency: Rain or shine, the experience will be running.
Arrival: Plan to arrive 15 minutes in advance.
Parking: Parking is available at the meeting location.
What to wear: Wear closed-toe shoes with rubber soles (such as tennis shoes or hiking boots). Sandals and shoes with high heels are not recommended. Wear comfortable clothing. It is recommended to dress in layers as desert temperatures can change quickly. In the cooler months (November through March), it is suggested to bring a light sweater or jacket.
What to bring:
- Identification, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
- Gratuity for your guide is greatly appreciated if you enjoy the experience. Suggested gratuity is X per person.
Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: Restrooms are available on the tour.
