This full-day tour trades the city skyline for rolling vineyards and some of Sonoma Valley's most celebrated wines. Guests board a vintage VW bus, kicking things off with a complimentary morning mimosa before stopping at the Golden Gate Bridge for photos. From there the journey heads north, with the guide sharing the history of San Francisco and Sonoma wine country along the way.

The tour visits three award-winning wineries in the Sonoma Valley: a scenic estate in the Carneros appellation known for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, a boutique Italian family-owned hidden gem where lunch is served alongside Italian varietals paired with artisan cheeses, salumi, and fresh bread, and a certified organic winery where guests explore the wine-making process inside a stunning wine cave. The small group size keeps things intimate from start to finish. Must be 21 or older to participate in wine tastings.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

• Duration: This is a full-day tour (~8 hours total)
• What's included: Complimentary morning mimosa, complimentary water, a Golden Gate Bridge photo stop, guided narration on SF and Sonoma history and wine tasting basics, visits to 3 award-winning wineries, scenic winery photos, and pickup and drop-off at Fisherman's Wharf or Union Square. Lunch and winery tasting fees are not included.
• Who will be present: A professional guide and driver will be with you throughout. Small group size per vintage VW bus.
• Photo/video: Photography is encouraged throughout, including scenic stops at the Golden Gate Bridge and the wineries.

How to prepare?

• Weather dependency: This tour includes outdoor time at wineries and scenic stops. A warmer layer or windbreaker is recommended as weather can vary between San Francisco and Sonoma.
• Arrival: Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Fisherman's Wharf area: arrive by 9:05 a.m. Union Square area: arrive by 8:50 a.m.
• Parking: Parking is available near both pickup locations. Parking information can be found at sanfrancisco.bestparking.com.
• What to wear: Closed-toe shoes are required. No high heels, clogs, or sandals.
• What to bring: A camera or phone for photos, your own USB cable for the on-board charging stations, a light jacket or windbreaker, and cash or card for tasting fees (approximately $25 per winery at Painted Ladies discounted pricing) and lunch.

Anything else I should know before going on this experience?

• Two general pickup locations are available. Fisherman's Wharf area (1300 Columbus Ave): departs at 9:15 a.m. Union Square area (427 Post St, across from Morton's Steakhouse): departs at 9:00 a.m. Hotel pickups within the Union Square area are generally around 8:45 a.m. and within the Fisherman's Wharf area between 9:00 and 9:15 a.m. Your guide will reach out to confirm your hotel pickup time. Hotel pickup requires 24 hours advance notice.
• Luggage is not permitted on board. A small backpack or handbag that fits on your lap or under your legs is fine.
• A gratuity of 15% is included in the tour price. Additional cash tips are greatly appreciated.

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 14 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 7 days before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 7 days in advance means losing the value of your experience.
