After purchase, you can request your preferred dates and times by following the instructions in the email you receive. If it's a gift, the recipient will also get an email with booking instructions.

Any restrictions to participate?

  • Age: All age groups are welcome.
  • Height:
    • For The Beam guests must be 52 inches (132 cm) or taller to ride alone; guests 42–52 inches (107–132 cm) may participate only if accompanied by an adult.
    • For Skylift there is no height limit to ride Skylift, but they ask that all children under 18 years old be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of your Skylift experience.
  • Weight: The Beam & Skylift have a maximum weight of 300 lbs (~136 kg) per guest.

Who can you accommodate for?

  • Children: All participants must have a valid ticket, including children. Children must meet height requirements to participate in The Beam.
  • Individuals with disabilities:
    • The Beam: Wheelchairs are not permitted on The Beam. Enhanced accommodations are available for ADA guests and guests with amputees; such guests must be accompanied by a supervising adult throughout The Beam experience.
    • General Admission: The observation decks are wheelchair accessible. Elevators serve all levels. Service animals are permitted.
    • Skylift: Assisted mobility devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and scooters are allowed on Skylift. Service and emotional support animals are not permitted on Skylift. Guests with service animals must have a member of their party supervise the service animal for the duration of their experience.
  • Pets: Pets are not permitted.

What to expect on the day of the experience

  • Duration: ~2 hours
    • The Beam Experience lasts only a few minutes including loading, safety instructions, and photo capture.
    • The Skylift Experience lasts a few minutes as the platform ascends three stories above the 70th-floor deck.
    • The full observation deck visit typically takes 45–60 minutes, depending on visitor flow.

  • Spectators: Only guests with a valid ticket may participate. Friends or family not riding may observe and record from Level 3 for Beam riders.
  • Photo / video:
    • The Beam: Cell phones, cameras, and recording devices are not permitted on the Beam. Professional photography is provided; photos are available iwth Photo Pass
    • SKYLIFT: SKYLIFT video is included
    • Guests may take photos throughout the observation decks (outside of restricted ride zones).
  • Specific rules to follow: Follow all staff instructions, remain seated or in the designated position for the duration of each experience, and comply with safety rules.
    • Not permitted on The Beam:
      • Cellphones, cameras, tablets, laptops
      • Recording devices, selfie sticks, GoPros
      • Backpacks or bags of any size
      • Keys, wallets, bottles, beverages
      • Infant carriers, loose items
      • Medical devices such as oxygen tanks, canes, walkers
      • All loose personal belongings must be stored in cubbies adjacent to The Beam.
      • Tripods, large bags, and prohibited items are not allowed anywhere on the experiences.

  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 15–20 minutes early for security screening and elevator transport to the decks.
  • Parking: Paid parking garages are available near Rockefeller Center.
  • What to wear:
    • Close-toed shoes or sandals with a secure heel strap are required.
    • Loose items such as hats, glasses, and scarves must be secured.
    • Recommended to wear pants, shorts, or tights if possible.
    • Dress in layers—the outdoor decks can be windy.
  • What to bring:
    • Recommended: A fully charged phone or camera for general deck photos.
    • Allowed: Phones, small bags, personal items (must be stored before riding The Beam).
