Weekday Potomac Whitewater Tubing offers an engaging way to experience the Potomac River's Class II-III rapids. This unguided trip is designed for those seeking adventure during their week, requiring participants to be proficient swimmers and physically fit to navigate the river's challenges independently. The journey provides not only an adrenaline rush but also a chance to enjoy some of the most scenic views in the country, including the historic Harpers Ferry National Park and the merging points of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers.

The experience is set against the backdrop of three states, offering unique perspectives of West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland. To ensure the preservation of this beautiful natural setting, the trip enforces a strict policy on trash, allowing only soft, collapsible coolers or dry bags that can be securely attached to tubes. Weekday trips mean fewer crowds, allowing for a more personal experience on the water and the opportunity for additional runs as time permits. After the excitement of the river, participants have the option to relax and refuel with snacks and beverages available for purchase, complementing the day's outdoor adventure.

Any restrictions to participate?

• Age: 12+ and a strong swimmer
• Weight: Participants must be at least 90 pounds
• Health limitations: Please make note of any medical conditions at the time of booking. If asthmatic please bring your inhaler and participants with allergies, bring your epi-pin. 
• Physical limitations: All participants must be strong swimmers. Please make note of any physical limitations at the time of booking.

Who can you accommodate for?

• Children: All participants under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

• Duration: 1-2 hours 
• What’s included: A quality standard tube (with or without a seat bottom), U.S. Coast Guard approved PFD, and shuttle service. 
• Who will be present: Crew members will be there to assist you with put-in and take-out on the river, but this is a self-guided adventure down the river. There can be up to 40 total participants in each shuttle group. 
• Spectators: Everyone participating in the trip must have a reservation. 
• Photo/ video: You are welcome to take photos and video, however please keep in mind that your camera/cell phone will get wet without a waterproof case. A strap is also recommended, so it does not fall into the river!
• Specific rules to follow: 
  • All participants must sign a waiver
  • All participants must wear a PFD while on the river
  • No alcohol is allowed, and all participants must be sober
  • Flip flops are not allowed
  • All other rules will be covered at the time of check in

How to prepare?

• Weather dependency: This experience is weather dependent. In the case of inclement weather please contact the experience provider directly. 
• Arrival: Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes in advance
• Parking: There is free parking available at the meeting location. 
• What to wear: Comfortable water attire appropriate for the weather. Shoes with a good rubber sole that hook to your feet, such as old sneakers, velcro sandals, aqua sox, etc. Flip flops are not permitted.
• What to bring:
  • A towel, extra dry clothing, sun hat or visor, water (at least 32 oz), sunglasses, strap for glasses, and sunscreen
  • Inhaler or epi-pin (if needed for medical conditions or allergies)
  • Waterproof bag or case if you decide to bring your phone or camera along
  • Small compressible coolers are allowed as well as large water bottles with loops. Bring them with a carabiner or short strap to secure them to your tube handle during the trip.
  • You are also welcome to bring a picnic for before or after your trip!
• Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: Restrooms and changing rooms are available at the meeting location.

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 14 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 48 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 48 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
