• Spectators: No spectators are allowed; all guests must have a ticket/reservation.
• Photo/video: Photos and videos are encouraged throughout the tour.
• Specific rules to follow:
  • Security screening (magnetometer and X-ray) is required before entering the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center.
  • No food or drinks are permitted through security at the Capitol Building or the National Archives.

  • No food or luggage is permitted on the bus.

How to prepare?

• Weather dependency: Rain or shine, the tour will be running.
• Arrival: Plan to arrive at least 15–20 minutes before departure.
• Parking: Parking is available near the departure point via SpotHero or Google Maps. The Capitol South Metro stop (Orange, Silver, Blue Lines) is a short walk from the Neptune Fountain departure point.
• What to wear: Comfortable clothing and good walking shoes are recommended.
• What to bring:

• Restrooms: Restrooms are available at the departure area, inside the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, inside the National Archives, and at restaurant stops throughout the tour.

• The tour departs from the Neptune Fountain at the Library of Congress Thomas Jefferson Building (not the US Navy Memorial used for other tours) and concludes at the National Archives Building.
• Note the different start location for this tour: the Neptune Fountain is located on 1st Street SE, between Independence Ave SE and East Capitol Street, Washington, DC.
• Security restrictions at the U.S. Capitol and the National Archives prohibit food and drinks from being brought through screening checkpoints.
• Convertible glass-top buses switch from open-top to glass-top configuration between October and March.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 24 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 24 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
