  • What’s included:
    • Drink a cappuccino from NYC’s oldest cafe
    • Discover the former cafe that became the unofficial birthplace of the off-off Broadway theatre movement
    • Taste coffee treats from New York City’s oldest whole bean retailers
    • See NYC’s first espresso machine
    • Learn how NYC coffee culture played host to the first Stock Exchange and was considered to be the world’s first internet cafe
  • Who will be present: You will have a guide with you at all times; also, other guests may be joining (up to 10 people).
  • Spectators: No spectators are allowed, everyone must have a ticket/reservations.
  • Photo/ video: You may take your own photos.

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: Rain or shine, the experience will be running.
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 20 minutes in advance.
  • Parking: It is recommended to subway to the meeting location.
    • By Subway: A,B,C,D,E,F,M to W4 Street
  • What to wear: Good walking shoes
  • What to bring: Your phone, wallet, and water bottle are recommended.
  • Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: Restrooms may be available but are not guaranteed. Please use any facilities before the tour begins.

Led by our expert guide, you'll explore the charming streets of Greenwich Village and visit some of the oldest whole bean retailers in the city. As you taste your way through a variety of coffee treats, you'll discover how New York and coffee have been intertwined since the very beginning.

From economic development to cultural significance, you'll learn how this tasty beverage has shaped the city we know and love. And with an espresso, drip coffee, chocolate-covered coffee beans, and a cappuccino all included in your experience, you'll definitely be caffeinated by the end of the tour!

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 72 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 72 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
