After purchase, you can request your preferred dates and times by following the instructions in the email you receive. If it's a gift, the recipient will also get an email with booking instructions.

Any restrictions to participate?

  • Age: All age groups welcome
  • Physical limitations: Need to be able to walk at a leisurely pace for approximately 3 hours.

Who can you accommodate for?

  • Children: Free for children 3 and under.
  • Individuals with disabilities: Yes, tours are both wheelchair and stroller accessible. There may be one or two stops along the way without a wheelchair ramp and with a small step up but most stops have a ramp or are street level. Please contact us before booking to inquire.
  • Languages: Tours are conducted in English but your guides speak Spanish, Italian and French. If you need a tour in another language, please contact us and let us know.
  • Pets: Yes, dogs are fine as long as you don’t mind leaving them outside when inside establishments where they serve food.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: Approximately 3 hours 
  • What’s included: 5 tastings! Professional tour guide and enough food for lunch!
  • Who will be present: You will have a guide as well as between 4 and 14 other participants.
  • Spectators: No spectators are allowed, everyone must have a ticket/reservation.
  • Photo/ video: You may take your own photos during the tour.

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: Tours will run rain, snow or shine. It is asked that you check the weather forecast and dress accordingly if inclement weather is predicted.
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes in advance
  • Parking: Public transportation is advised, but there is public and private parking in the meeting point area.
  • What to wear: Dress for the weather.
  • Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: There will be opportunities for bathroom breaks at the stops along the tour.

With your knowledgeable guide, you'll visit historic synagogues, admire street art, and browse trendy food markets, all while hearing amazing stories and getting an insider's look at how the food is made and what it means to the cultures it represents.
Along the way, your guide will point out interesting architectural features and parks, and delve into the history of the neighborhood and the different ethnic groups that influenced the delicious foods you'll be savoring. From sweet to savory, you'll taste an array of dishes that reflect the unique flavors and traditions of the Lower East Side's diverse community.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 24 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 24 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
