Full description

Step into the world of spectral mysteries and unexplained phenomena with the Kennebunkport Ghost Tour.

Sample Itinerary:

  • White Columns: This residential time capsule now houses the First Families Museum. Today visitors enjoy tours of this beautiful mansion until they encounter its ghostly inhabitants.
  • Louis T. Graves Library: Take a closer look at this historic building's most curious feature, a headstone embedded in the exterior wall. Hear the story behind it as well as the tale of a local poltergeist investigated by esteemed artist Abbott Graves and other pillars of the community.
  • Captain Lord Mansion: Watch out for the ghost of Phoebe Lord, who lived in this mansion for 49 years, following the death of her husband, Captain Nathaniel Lord.
  • The Captain Fairfield Inn: Get acquainted with Captain James Fairfield who has been seen in this mansion since 1991, when the building underwent heavy renovation.
  • Silas Perkins Park: Explore the park dedicated to famous early 20th-century poet Silas Perkins, known as the ‘Bard of Kennebunkport.’ In life, Silas made a startling discovery, which caused him to change his mind about ghosts. In death, Silas himself is believed to haunt a local inn.
  • Lorin Deland Memorial Bench: Rest at the memorial built by early 20th-century writer Margaret Deland for her late husband, Lorin. The couple had a profound interest in the paranormal. This monument stands on the grounds of their former estate, where Margaret undertook experiments in psychical research.
  • Nonantum Resort: Visit the oldest existing hotel in Kennebunkport, where 27 ghosts are said to roam. Otherworldly antics are most prevalent on the second and third floors and could quite literally shake you to your core.
