Getting to Vermont for a day on the slopes usually means a long drive on snowy highways, but this trip from New York City to Mount Snow leaves all of that to someone else. Riders board a heated coach at one of several city pickups in the early hours and roll into Southern Vermont before the first chairs start spinning. A trip leader travels with the group and is on hand at the mountain throughout the day.

There are two ways to go. The Roundtrip Bus Only package covers the journey for skiers and snowboarders who already hold a lift pass, while the All Area Lift & Bus package adds a full day lift ticket for the whole mountain. Mornings are made for carving the massive, wide open cruisers of the Main Face, and the afternoon is the perfect time to explore Carinthia, known as one of the premier terrain park areas in the East. Once legs are spent, there's a complimentary drink before the comfortable ride home, arriving back in the city in the late evening.

Anything else I should know before going on this experience?

• The Roundtrip Bus Only package does not include a lift ticket, so guests need their own pass or ticket for the mountain.
• With the All Area Lift & Bus package, the trip leader hands out lift tickets on arrival. Lost lift tickets cannot be replaced, so taking a photo of the ticket is recommended.
• The bus may make a brief stop on the way to Vermont and typically makes up to two stops on the way back. It cannot drop off or pick up guests anywhere other than the listed locations.
