Starting from the corner of Washington Ave and Coliseum Street near the historic, albeit currently closed, Lafayette Cemetery, the tour delves into New Orleans' unique burial methods and the stories of notable individuals buried there. As you walk through the district, your guide will point out the homes of historical figures and celebrities, as well as film sites from movies like "Django Unchained," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," and "Interview with the Vampire."

This tour doesn’t just showcase beautiful homes and celebrity lore; it also reveals the captivating scandals and remarkable tales of adventure that are woven into the fabric of the Garden District. You’ll receive visual aids to help visualize historical events, and each group gets a Polaroid photo to commemorate the experience. The small group setting ensures a more intimate and detailed exploration, making it easy to engage with the deep and often hidden history of this iconic New Orleans neighborhood.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

Duration: 2 hours.
What’s included: A guided walking tour of the Garden District, visuals of historic moments, and a free Polaroid memento for your party.
Who will be present: A knowledgeable local guide will lead the tour, limited to a maximum of 15 guests.

How to prepare?

Weather dependency: The tour runs rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, check for notifications about possible cancellations or rescheduling.
Arrival: Please meet at the corner of Washington Ave and Coliseum Street by the cemetery wall at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Parking: Street parking is available in the area. Arriving early is recommended to find a spot.
What to wear: Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
What to bring:
- Water, especially on hot days, to stay hydrated.
- A camera or phone for photos—capturing the beautiful architecture and historical sites is encouraged.
Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: Public restrooms are available near the tour start at the Rink, located at Prytania St. & Washington Ave. Plan accordingly as these may be the only available facilities during the tour.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 48 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 48 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
