Lobster Hunting After Dark

This four-hour excursion takes place along the region’s world-class beaches, where the ocean comes alive at night. Outfitted with full snorkeling and diving gear—including wetsuits, gloves, and bright dive lights—you’ll set off from the shore to explore kelp forests, rocky reefs, and the habitats where California spiny lobsters roam. Along the way, it’s not uncommon to encounter octopus on the hunt, stingrays gliding through the water, or even curious harbor seals that join in the action.
The highlight of the evening is the chance to dive down and catch lobsters by hand, guided by expert instruction and plenty of excitement. Once back on shore, the adventure continues with freshly steamed lobster and uni prepared beachside, turning the catch into a meal that feels both earned and unforgettable!

Any restrictions to participate?

Age: Participants must be 18 years or older to book.
Health limitations: Not recommended for those with respiratory conditions, recent surgeries, or who are pregnant.
Physical limitations: Participants must be able to swim and feel comfortable in the ocean at night.
Experience level: Suitable for adventurous beginners, though prior snorkeling or diving experience is helpful.
Who can you accommodate for?
Children: This is not an experience for children; all participants must be 18 years or older.
Individuals with disabilities: Not accessible for wheelchairs or those with significant mobility limitations due to the physical requirements of ocean entry and diving.
Languages: Tours are conducted in English.
Pets: Pets are not allowed.

Duration: Approximately 4 hours. The experience may go slightly longer depending on conditions and participant engagement.

Full neoprene wetsuit with hood, booties, mask, snorkel, and fins.
Kevlar dive gloves.
Bright waterproof dive lights.
Guided night diving experience to hunt for California spiny lobster.
Opportunity to steam lobsters, prepare uni, and enjoy fresh catch by the shoreline.
Who will be present: A professional guide will lead the group. Up to 4 participants may join per session.
Spectators: No spectators are allowed; all participants must book a spot.
Photo/ video: Personal cameras and GoPros are encouraged; no professional photographer is provided.
Specific rules to follow: Guests must follow the guide’s instructions at all times for safety.
How to prepare?
