Overview

Take a deeper dive into the science and history of whiskey making at a historic distillery in Brooklyn, NY, then taste limited bottles most visitors never get to try.

📜 Hear how whiskey helped shape America, from the Whiskey Rebellion to Prohibition

🔬 Get an in-depth look at the science of mashing, fermentation and pot distillation

🛢️ Explore the barrel aging rooms and learn how oak transforms the spirit over time

🥃 Taste four handcrafted whiskeys, including a limited allocated release

This is the upgraded version of the classic distillery tour, made for people who want the full story. Over 75 minutes, a guide takes you through New York City's oldest whiskey distillery, the first to open in the city since Prohibition, inside the historic Paymaster Building at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Expect a deeper look at how whiskey shaped American history, plus the science behind mashing, fermentation and distilling in copper pot stills.

Next comes the barrel aging room, where you'll catch the "angel's share" in the air and learn how oak mellows the spirit while it develops color and richer flavor. The tour ends with a tasting of four whiskeys that goes beyond the core lineup. It can include moonshine, a straight bourbon, a peated bourbon and one of the distillery's limited allocated whiskeys. It's a great gift for the whiskey lover who has already done the standard tour, or for anyone who wants to skip straight to the good stuff.
