Overview

Get closer to Alcatraz than most visitors ever do on this 90 minute cruise that sails under the Golden Gate Bridge, past Angel Island, and circles the Rock from every angle while stories of famous escape attempts play out through a free audio tour in ten languages.

🌉 Sail under the Golden Gate Bridge and past Angel Island State Park on the way out to the Rock

🏝️ Circle Alcatraz Island from every angle, seeing the prison up close without landing on it

🔒 Hear gripping stories of escape attempts by Al Capone, Clyde Johnson, and others

🎧 Follow along with a free audio tour available in ten languages on your own device

Alcatraz has a way of pulling people in even from a distance, and this cruise leans into that fully. After sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge and past Angel Island State Park, the boat reaches the Rock and circles it completely, giving guests a view of every side of the prison that once held Al Capone, Clyde Johnson, Billy Cook, and others whose escape attempts became legend. The audio tour, available in ten languages, brings those stories to life in a way that makes the silhouette of the island feel genuinely eerie.

It's the ideal option for anyone who wants the full Alcatraz experience without the timed entry tickets and the ferry landing crowds. A snack bar and bar are on board, indoor and outdoor seating are both available, and the cruise runs rain or shine. The Rock doesn't look any less mysterious up close, and the Golden Gate doesn't look any less spectacular from the water.
