Go on a Parisian pastry adventure with our classic French Macaron class!
Get ready to channel your inner chef as we dive into the art of macaron making. In this interactive and enjoyable class, you'll discover the secrets behind creating these delectable treats right in your own kitchen. The renowned 'Gerbert' or 'Paris Macaron,' a French meringue-based almond sandwich cookie, takes center stage. Although credited to Ladurée in Paris, these cookies are believed to have originated in Renaissance Italy, deriving their name from the Italian word "maccherone," meaning fine dough.
Under the guidance of our expert Pastry Chef Instructor, you'll demystify the process of crafting these sought-after meringue-based cookies. Through a detailed demonstration and step-by-step instructions, you'll learn the art of meringue mixing (macaronage), piping, baking, assembling, and, of course, indulging in your creations. We'll also explore various flavor profiles and filling variations to make your macarons truly stand out from the crowd.
No prior experience is necessary! We'll provide all the necessary equipment and ingredients, readily available at local markets if you don't already have them in your kitchen. Our classes are designed to be casual, fun, and instructive, suitable for both baking enthusiasts eager to be fully involved and first-timers who prefer observation or assisting (or taste testing). You'll work alongside other students in small groups of 2-4. Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in, especially for large groups. Refreshing drinks can be purchased at the hotel bar.
