Any restrictions to participate?
  • Age: Guests must be at least 18 years of age to enter the wellness spa.
  • Health limitations: No contraindications have been identified for the Light System technology. However, individuals with specific health concerns are encouraged to consult their physician before booking.
Who can you accommodate for? 
  • Children: This is not an experience for children.
  • Individuals with disabilities: Scalar.Health is located on the 2nd floor and is accessible via an electronic stairlift. Please note there is a two-step walk-up to the stairlift platform at the base of the stairs, and a transfer between stairlifts on the mid-staircase platform. Guests requiring assistance must bring a certified aide, as staff are not trained to provide ADA assistance. The stairlift has a maximum weight capacity of 300 lbs.
  • Pets: Pets are not permitted. Certified and licensed service animals are welcome — please notify staff in advance.
What to expect on the day of the experience?
  • Duration: 1 or 2 Hour sessions available
  • What's included:
    • Guests receive a comprehensive orientation upon arrival, guided seating in the 24-unit Light System energy lounge, and aftercare/detox protocol recommendations following the session.
    • Complimentary alkaline Kangen water and organic non-GMO tea are available in the upstairs lounge.
  • Who will be present: The Light System lounge is a multi-person, shared space. Staff will guide guests to their designated seat and are available to assist. Other guests may be present in the room simultaneously.
  • Spectators: No spectators are allowed; all guests must have a reservation.
  • Photo/video: Cell phones and electronics must be set to airplane mode and are not permitted to be used inside the session room. Photography is not encouraged during the session in order to preserve the tranquil atmosphere for all guests.
  • Specific rules to follow:
    • Cell phones and electronic devices must be switched off or set to airplane mode before entering the session room.
    • No food is permitted in the Scalar.Health lounge or om.life reception area.
    • Guests are asked to keep noise to a minimum and be mindful of fellow participants.
    • Heavy perfumes and scented oils should be avoided out of consideration for scent-sensitive guests.
How to prepare?
  • Weather dependency: This is an indoor experience.
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled session. First-time guests must sign a Waiver Liability Form and Private Membership Association agreement prior to entry.
  • Parking: Paid street parking is available using the ParkMobile app. A paid indoor parking garage is located at 1 Park View Avenue (The Vantage Apartment Building). Scalar.Health is also a 1-minute walk from the Marin Blvd Light Rail Station, a 10-minute walk from Grove Street PATH Station, and a 15-minute walk from Exchange Place and the NY Waterway Ferries.
  • What to wear: Comfortable, layered clothing is recommended. As the body relaxes, temperature may drop, so layers are helpful. Street shoes must be removed upon entry; complimentary clean slippers are provided.
  • What to bring:
    • A water bottle (can be refilled with complimentary Kangen water on-site, up to 32 oz)
    • A small blanket or throw if prone to feeling cold
    • A sleep mask if complete darkness is preferred
    • Personal headphones if music is desired (phone must be on airplane mode)
    • Outside food and drinks are not permitted
  • Restrooms: Restrooms are located on the first floor. Guests are encouraged to use facilities before ascending to the second-floor lounge.
