Starting in the charming recreated 1880s logging town of Roaring Camp, you'll board a historic train for a seven-mile adventure through the majestic redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The ride winds through the scenic San Lorenzo River Gorge, crosses a 1909 steel truss bridge, and takes you through an 1875 tunnel, offering stunning views along the way.

Arrive at the iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, where you can enjoy a variety of attractions. Whether you choose a one-hour or a five-hour layover, you'll have ample time to explore the beach, wharf, and bustling boardwalk. Who can you accommodate for?

• Children: Infants under 2 years old may ride for free. No more than two children under the age of 2 may ride free per paid adult.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

• Duration: Approximately 3 hours with a one-hour layover.
  • If you choose the 10:00am departure you may have the option to extend to a 7 hour journey with a five-hour layover.
• What’s included: Round-trip train ride from Felton to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
• Who will be present: A conductor and train staff will be present. The experience may include other participants, as it is a public train ride.
• Spectators: No spectators are allowed; everyone must have a ticket/reservation.
• Photo/ video: Guests are encouraged to take their own photos. Commercial use of photos and videos requires consent from Roaring Camp management.
• Specific rules to follow: Follow conductor's instructions, adhere to social distancing protocols, and comply with health and safety signage. Masks are recommended while on board the train.

How to prepare?

• Weather dependency: The experience runs rain or shine.
• Arrival: Plan to arrive 45 minutes in advance.
• Parking: Parking fee included in ticket price. No need to pay at the gate; provide the last name on the order at arrival.
• What to wear: A light jacket is recommended.
• What to bring: A digital or paper copy of your confirmation email. Personal belongings are allowed; however, be mindful of space.

Anything else I should know before going on this experience?

• Tickets are non-transferable, and no rainchecks or refunds will be provided. If you miss your departure, accommodation on another train may not be possible. Schedules are subject to change if necessary.

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 14 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.
