  • Children: Infants under 2 may ride free (limit of 2 free infants per paid adult).

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: 75 minutes
  • What’s included: A round-trip train ride through the redwood forest to the summit of Bear Mountain. $10 parking fee is NOT included in the ticket price.
  • Who will be present: Conductors narrating the history of Roaring Camp, the railroad, and the forest. The experience may include other participants as it is a public ride.
  • Spectators: No spectators are allowed; everyone must have a ticket/reservation.
  • Photo/ video: Guests are encouraged to take their own photos. Commercial use of photos and videos requires consent from Roaring Camp management.
  • Specific rules to follow: Follow conductor's instructions and adhere to health and safety protocols. Masks are recommended while on board the train.

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: The experience runs rain or shine.
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 45 minutes in advance.
  • Parking: Parking available onsite for $10. Fee is NOT included in the ticket price.
  • What to wear: A light jacket is recommended.
  • What to bring: A digital or paper copy of your confirmation email. Personal belongings are allowed; however, be mindful of space.

  • Tickets are non-refundable. If you or anyone in your party is feeling ill, reschedule the visit or obtain a gift card. Schedules are subject to change if necessary.
