Kick off from Friday Harbor, where a short drive with your guide takes you to the launch site. After a comprehensive kayaking tutorial ensuring everyone's comfort and safety, you’ll set out along the scenic shores of the island. Paddle through areas known for frequent whale sightings, accompanied by seals, eagles, and other wildlife, against the backdrop of the stunning Pacific Northwest scenery. The tour promises a blend of adventure, wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes, topped off with a break on a secluded beach.

  • Health limitations: Participants should be in good health with no severe medical conditions that could be exacerbated by physical activity, stress, or exposure to natural environments.

Who can you accommodate for?

  • Children: While all ages are welcome, the physical nature of kayaking makes the tour more suitable for children who can paddle or sit still for extended periods.
  • Individuals with disabilities: Please contact in advance to discuss any specific accessibility needs. The activity involves getting in and out of kayaks and might be challenging for some disabilities.
  • Pets: Sorry, pets are not allowed for the safety and comfort of all participants.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: Approximately 6 hours, including transportation, instruction, and 3 to 4 hours of kayaking.
  • What’s included: Professional guide services, transportation to and from the launch site, all kayaking gear, and safety equipment. Participants should bring their own lunch and snacks.
  • Who will be present: Group sizes may vary.
  • Spectators: The nature of the experience does not allow for spectators.
  • Photo/ video: Participants are encouraged to bring cameras but must have a way to waterproof them. The guides can help with storing devices when not in use.
  • Specific rules to follow: Participants are expected to follow all safety guidelines provided by the guides, respect wildlife and natural habitats, and avoid littering.

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: The tour is subject to weather conditions and may be modified or canceled for safety in case of poor weather.
  • Arrival: Please arrive at the designated meeting point by 11 am; the location is at the traffic circle near the Friday Harbor Ferry Terminal.
  • Parking: Available nearby; detailed instructions will be provided upon booking.
  • What to wear: Beach-appropriate clothing that can get wet, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Bring layers and a rain jacket as the weather can change quickly.
  • What to bring:
    • Beach footwear or old sneakers that can handle getting wet.
    • Lunch, snacks, and a water bottle.
    • A hat and warm layers depending on the weather forecast.
  • Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: Facilities will be available at the meeting point and possibly at the mid-point break, but be prepared for limited access during the tour.

Anything else I should know before going on this experience?

  • Be prepared for the physical activity involved in kayaking. While breaks are provided, kayaking requires constant mild exertion. Be sure to stay hydrated and protected from the sun.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 30 days before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 30 days in advance means losing the value of your experience.
